"Apollo 13 was the third human mission of Nasa developed with intention to land on the Moon. During the mission, however, technical problems
were drilled crew to abandon landing. The launch took place on 11 April 1970 at 13:13 o'clock. Two days later, while the mission was on his
way to the Moon, a malfunction of electrical system of one of the oxygen tanks in the service module caused an explosion that caused the loss
of both tanks of service module and thus loss of power supply, which came from fuel cells that used oxygen. The service comand remained in
function baes on its own batteries and oxygen tank, but they must be kept for the last hours of the mission, the landing. The crew stopped the
command module and used the lunar module as "lifeboat" during the return trip to Earth.Despite the difficulties caused by limited electric
energy, cold in the cabin and small reserve of drinking water, the crew got back to Earth safety, and the mission was considered a successful
failure".
